The Big Bicolline Fancy Word List, aka the Glossary
(From 'PNJ' to 'Immersion', all dem weird LARP terms explained)
These terms are among the most commonly used at Bicolline. Familiarizing yourself with them will greatly enhance your understanding of the game world, improve communication with other participants, and help you integrate more naturally into the immersive environment.
Bico — Bicolline
The go-to slang for North America's biggest and baddest medieval fantasy LARP.
Chevalier de l'Aube — Dawn Knight
An informal title bestowed upon individuals who remain awake and active throughout the entire night until sunrise.
Bico-Propre — Bico-Clean
"Clean enough" by Bico standards. Looks fine, smells questionable.
Bico-Zoo — Zoo Day
Friday of the Grand Battle, when the site gets swarmed by single-day visitors. Loud, packed, and a LOT of first-timers.
L'heure Bico — Bico Time
Timekeeping at Bico is... flexible. "Meet at 2" means sometime between noon and sunset.
Bico-Blues
Post-event crash. That hollow, heartachey vibe when Bico ends and real life hits like a poorly padded arrow.
Kit
A full costume and gear setup. People often have multiple "kits" for different moments and/or days.
These terms are most commonly used in the context of combat or when discussing the Bicolline battlefield. Understanding them will help you navigate martial encounters, follow commands, and communicate effectively during large-scale engagements.
Brun générique — Generic Brown
A term used to describe individuals with no notable status or recognition within the Bicolline community. Often newcomers or those uninvolved in major events or politics, they tend to go unnoticed and blend into the crowd. The nickname references brown as the "default" medieval color, symbolizing anonymity and lack of distinction.
Maréchal — Marshal
The official term used at Bicolline to refer to referees. Maréchaux are responsible for ensuring the rules are followed during combat and gameplay, maintaining fairness and safety on the field.
Botte — Boots
Slang for fighters on the field. Used to count bodies, not fashion. "How many boots you bringing?" means "How many people can throw hands?"
Points d'orgueil — Pride Points
Used for players who conveniently forget some of their damage. Less HP, more ego.
Dom / Pop — Population Card
A card issued for free during major events (Grand Battle or the Bal Pourpre). It can also be obtained at other events, but only by paid registered members. This card forms the foundation of Bicolline's in-game political system.
Bico — Bicolline
The go-to slang for North America's biggest and baddest medieval fantasy LARP.
Hautes Instances — Bicolline Organisation or Dungeon Masters
A decorum, in-universe term used to refer to game masters (DMs) or the Bicolline organizing body. It allows participants to acknowledge administrative authority or decisions without breaking immersion during roleplay.
L'autre-monde — The Other World
What we call real life. The boring, magicless realm you're cruelly sent back to after Bico ends.
Charette — Cart
In-game slang for your real-world car.
Envoyer un pigeon — Send a Pigeon
In-game way to say you'll message someone out-of-game. Usually means a DM, not an actual bird.
